I AM JEN SMITH, A BABCP AND BACP ACCREDITED THERAPIST CONTINUOUSLY PRACTISING SINCE 1999.

 

I am a highly experienced CBT psychological therapist, psychotherapist and counsellor.

In addition to being both BABCP and BACP Accredited I am also registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and with the Independent Practitioners Special Interest Group (IPSIG).

I have been employed as a psychotherapist since 1999 and have 23 years experience in private practice. My trainings include:

self and relationships psychotherapy;

 counselling for life events and situations;

and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for relief of symptoms, conditions and recurrent states of mind including Trauma.

I am able to integrate different approaches with the ease that extensive experience brings.

I am able to offer each client therapy which is tailored to their needs, and to offer them a variety of options. 

I have had sixteen years experience as a psychotherapist within the NHS including working at Guys and St Thomas, and Surrey and Borders NHS Trust. In my NHS role I supervised other therapists. I have been employed in the private sector for ten years, including 9 years at the Priory Hospitals.

I have experience of helping people overcome Depression, Anxiety and other common mental health disorders, including Panic-Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias and Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
